I started my infatuation with music in rock, heavy metal to be exact. Today, I got a soft spot for the indie stuff. By far this is a genre I have barely broken into but I simply can’t get enough of. Unlike the other mixes, this is just a taste of what was released last year as I’ve got homework to do on the subject.
Rap/Hip-Hop will forever be my first love, but I don’t need to tell you like love things change over time. I’m thrilled to share this year’s mix because I feel like me and rap took a long cruise to the bahamas and are feeling like newlyweds again. From Rae to Atmosphere to Mobb Deep to M.O.P. to Common to Freestyle to Nas to The Beasties…Oh my, it’s like a reunion. Not to forget some newcomer awesomeness with the likes of Big K.R.I.T. and A$AP Rocky.
This is part two of the Electro & Indie tape. I put together what were my favorite tracks for 2011, trying not to skimp. This mix features my three favorite artists of the year, The Weeknd, Nikki & The Dove, and Little Dragon.
The best of 2011 mixtape series is finally up. I finished this 6 months ago, but just got slammed. Finally, you can all stop asking me where I got that song from. Check out the rest of the series and download your copy.
Part 1 of 3 : 31 “elctro” tracks (more indie-synth-elctro I suppose). 1st-half 2011 mixtape collection I threw together to share the love. All tracks are from 2011, well maybe there are is 1 or 2 reissues in there, but what was I to do.
Part 3 of 3 : 28 indie tracks. 1st-half 2011 mixtape collection I threw together to share the love. Noteworthy that I’ve seen I think half of these bands perform and they’re all worth the price of admission.
